2023 Internship Series
Dear Students:
You are cordially invited to join us for a series of talks by your fellow Computer Science and Computer Engineering students as well as alumni and external speakers. The talks will be focused on internship and job experiences and opportunities. In addition to the talks, we will hold a resume review session this Thursday to help you get ready for the application season. We will share the full talk schedule soon.
We will kick off the series with a meeting this Thursday, September 14, 2023 (12:15 – 1:15 pm). The meeting will be focused on the application process and resume review as the time to start applying for internships and jobs at large companies is now. The meeting will be a good opportunity to get the process going. There will be plenty of time to ask questions and pizza will be served.
CS/ENG Meeting (Profs. Byers and Chakraborttii ): Thursday, Sept. 14, 12:15-1:15 pm, MECC 270.
We are excited for the upcoming talks and hope you will join us to take advantage of this unique opportunity. We extend a warm welcome to students majoring in Mathematics and anyone else in STEM who might be interested. Please feel free to spread the word and bring a friend!

Please join us to learn more about the engineering program in general and to get specific answers to questions related to course selection and the academic program. Engineering faculty and students will be there to describe engineering activities, such as professional society memberships and research opportunities.

2022 Engineering Awards
Congratulations to Isabella C. Yung `22, Digesh Chitrakar `22, and Divas Subedi `22, winners of the 2022 Travelers Companies Foundation Senior Research Prize for their project entitled “Biometric Cyber-Pen”. This prize is awarded to student(s) whose senior research project in the field of engineering has been deemed the most outstanding by an independent board chosen from Trinity faculty and The Travelers staff.

Nye and goes to an undergraduate who has demonstrated understanding and concern for the need to achieve a harmonious balance between man’s technology and the natural environment. This award was established in 1992 by the family, friends, and colleagues of the late Professor Theodore R. Blakeslee II, Associate Professor of Engineering, to reward the outstanding teaching assistant in engineering.

Students Win Award for Engineering Research Poster
Engineering student researchers Alexandra Barbosa Gonzalez ’24 (left) and Meghan Spaulding ’24 won second place in a student research poster competition at the American Physical Society Division of Fluid Dynamics (APS DFD) meeting in November. They presented research they did last summer and during the fall 2021 semester, “Investigation of Acoustic Spectrum in a Simplified Aortic Valve Stenosis.” Assistant Professor of Engineering Clayton Byers said, “Earning this award in competition amongst a majority of graduate students is a really big accomplishment. This is a testament not only to their hard work but also to the opportunities students have here at Trinity.”

Skyler Szot ’21 on his NASA Internship
Skyler Szot ’21—an electrical engineering major from Farmington, Connecticut—is representing Trinity College on the west coast during his semester-long internship at NASA’s Armstrong Flight Research Center (AFRC) in California. The AFRC is NASA’s premier atmospheric test flight center, offering researchers a 20-mile-wide dry lake bed for emergency landings. Read more
